August Is National Family Meal Month
Perfect! August is national family meal month which is interesting considering the information that came out recently about how your social structure can make you fat.
This is a great time and a great way to get the whole family involved in picking out foods that taste great and are fresh and healthly. Lots of us grill in August and grilling is usually a healthier alternative to frying. Be sure to use lean cuts of meat and remove any skin from poultry before eating it. (these little things add up)
Also, try to grill vegetables that are marinated, super yummy and healthy. Your whole family can eat well and you can set an example of this without being preachy.

Don't Believe The Hype: You Can Lose Weight And Keep Your Friends
About 2 weeks ago, there were numerous articles and news stories about how your friends, family and social network will make you fat.
It's obvious that our environment affects our behavior. This does NOT mean that we can't have healthy lifestyle habits and still thrive in our socail setting. In fact, we may actually help our friends and family by being an inspiration.
Yes, you can lose weight and have a great social life if you so desire.

alli, The New Weight Loss Pill Is Here!
It seems like alli is everywhere! I was at Costco and it was there on display. I then opened up my Sunday newspaper and the ads for Target had alli in it.
Here's the deal: It may be a very good product, but you must watch the way you eat while you use it. This means a low fat high fiber diet, which, frankly is a good way to go. There is more evidence lately that a diet high in fiber helps with preventing certain kinds of cancer.
I think it's always a good idea to check with your health care professional before trying a supplement like this. Keep in mind that your personal physician may not be an expert in nutrition, but they should be aware of your health.
The good thing about a pill like this is that it may be the push that you need. Healthy permament weight loss is usually about 2 lbs. per week, but people get anxious and want to lose more. alli will help you to do that.

The evidence came out in the Exercise Science community about 5 or 6 years ago that just 10 minutes a day of cardiovascular exercise will improve your health.
You may not get "super fit" this way, but really, EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!!!
Also, if you do 2 or 3 10 minute intervals of exercise a day, you can start to up your metabolism and lose weight.
If you are reading this and you are sedentary: Please Try This.
You don't have to do anything sophisticated: walk in place, do some high kicks.
I have easy moves like this in my videos that are part of the Body Fat Blaster package. You can use a video like mine for just 10 minutes and then do 10 minutes later in the day.

Body Fat Blaster: 1st Post
Well, we finally came out with Bodyfatblaster which is the culmulative result of all of the products that I've produced for weight loss. You see, it is nearly impossible to go on a diet, lose weight and then keep it off. In order to lose weight successfully, you need to make changes in the foods that you like to eat to that you can still eat things that you like and lose weight.
Also, you absolutely MUST exercise. If you diet to lose weight without exercise, you may end up losing more muscle tissue then fat and this lowers your metabolism.
There are numerous studies that show how much more effective dieting is when combined with exercise.
Exercise does not have to be a huge undertaking to begin with. Simple moving around more will help a great deal.
The crowning touch, and to me the most important part of permanent weight loss is staying focused and using the mind body connection to keep you on track.
I actually believe that you can change the composition of your body with mind/belief power alone, however this takes a great deal of focus, faith and "imagination."
This blog will look at what is topical in terms of weight loss and comment on those topics. I hope that people looking to lose weight find this blog and use it as a resource.
